Shift Coastal Technologies Delivers Groundbreaking Autonomous Surface Vessel to the Canadian Coast Guard
Shift Coastal Technologies is excited to announce the delivery of the OceanSled® Ranger, the first-ever Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) acquired by the Canadian Coast Guard. This cutting-edge vessel is designed to significantly enhance coastal emergency response and environmental protection efforts. With its rugged, modular design, the OceanSled® Ranger is equipped with advanced sensors and Shift Coastal’s proprietary Coastal Intelligence Management System (CiMS), enabling real-time data collection and decision-making from remote coastal locations.
The Canadian Coast Guard will utilize the OceanSled® Ranger for a range of critical missions, including search and rescue operations, as well as environmental hazard response. This pioneering system was developed in close collaboration with the Canadian Coast Guard’s autonomous systems team and coastal communities like the T’Sou-ke First Nation, ensuring it meets the unique needs of Canada’s vast coastal regions.
